Writing stupor

Long time since a update, well the Slave is nearly finished
but I´ll continue where I last posted.
From the start I was going to light up the Slave and has I posted I have used led
and fibre optics to do this.

Light test

One problem with lighting the thrusters is the long thruster on the underside because it is not molded in clear like the round thrusters. So I had to make a mold of the thruster, I saw that on another site. I used Artidee Silcolan NV to make the silicon mold. Then I made the clear part with a cheap two part epoxy resin that smelled like the worst kind of toxics =).

More update

Okey, by now I have done som pre-painting and shading to the hull, the fuselage and the backpart. Now I am just waiting that I can go to a friend of mine to spray paint the parts, because i live in a small 2 room apartment. So there is not really any room or more important any ventilation for spray painting.

But in the mean time waiting, I been working on some adjustments.
Those who have made this model or the Jango version of the Slave I, know that the "D mold" is the same in both versions.

So I thought I want to do something with those seismic charges but I didnt want the launcher to be on the outside like it is in the Jango Fett model. So I cut a hole in the back where the seismic comes out and I modified the "holders" that keep the seismic in place.

Updates so far

I am gonna take my time on this model, better then I did on the Tie Interceptor. The paint job on the Slave is a important thing on the ship so I dont wanna screw that up.

I have finished and painted the cockpit parts:

Sorry about the bad quality off the pictures.

This is the only one of the cockpit in building progress.

This is a picture of the finished cockpit, as seen in the previous image I have first sprayed the parts black. After that I have dry brushed the parts with Revell Aluminium, closest thing I had to a paint that would give that metallic look. After that put some Humbrol matt rust color in some places behind Boba and on the floors in theflight- and the passenger deck.
Then I painted some details with matt red, white and yellow.

From the beginning I have planned to light this ship, so I have drilled some holes with a 1 mm drill in the cockpit, behind Boba and in the instrument panel and some other places. Gone use optic fibre and leds to light this baby up.

Heres a picture of the led light test:

Slave I Boba Fetts customized version(Empire at war)

Beginning of this year a ordered Slave I and Tie Interceptor for HLJ in Japan for a very reasonable price. I made the Interceptor kit right away but lacked the motivation to do the Slave I.
So a month ago I decided to start building it.

Started of with gluing the fuselag. Had to put som putty to the seam that runs down the center of the ship. Sanded the putty down, being careful not to shave panel lines or details.
